Benedict Wong is one of the founders and the President & CEO of Total Credit & Risk Management Group. He founded Total Credit Management Services Hong Kong Limited (“GCS Hong Kong and ASIAGATE Hong Kong”) jointly with Neil Wood in 1987, after having been involved as a Sales & Marketing Manager with one of Hong Kong largest credit reporting and collection companies. For the past 30+ years of dedication to the credit, collection, compliance and risk management industry as a whole, he has contributed to various articles, industry newsletters and appeared in several television interviews for local and international media. For the past 20 years, he has been a guest speaker at various seminars and conferences in Europe, Asia and USA, where he has spoken about credit, collection, compliance and risk management topics, focusing not only on Hong Kong and China but also on the international arena. Notable contributions include his presentation on: “Trends and Developments in the Far East” during the 2004 FENCA congress in Rome, Italy; “Industry Issues & Trends (Asia)” in 2000 ACA International Conference (fka American Collectors Association); “How to Run A Successful Credit Reporting Business” in 2000 TCM Group International Conference; “Development of Credit markets in Asia” in 2008 GCS Group Conference; “Debt Collection in Hong Kong -Way Ahead” in 2003 for Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited and “Credit Risk in China” in 2011 for Hong Kong Export Credit Insurance Corporation Benedict previously served as GCS Group’s Regional Director – Asia from 2000 to 2013. He also served as ACA International Asia-Pacific Director from 1999 to 2001 and held the post of Chairman between 2001-2003. He is also an active member of the World Association of Private Investigators (WAPI), National Association of Legal Investigators, Inc. (NALI) & World Association of Detectives, Inc. (WAD). In addition, he was appointed to the post of Chairman of ASIAGATE in 2011. As one of the founders of the Hong Kong Credit & Collection Management Association (HKCCMA), he was elected as the first Chairman of the association in January 2000 and served in the post from 2000 – 2010. The association was founded on 15th December 1999 with its mission to bring the credit, collection and risk management industry in Hong Kong into a new era of professionalism, working with government, business and the community at large, so as to establish the highest standards and work practice. He is currently a member of the HKCCMA’s Executive Committee and is also a Fellow Member.
