MR. Chi-Kong CHING is the Director of The Mental Health Association of Hong Kong (MHAHK) and also the Executive Director of the Institute of Community Rehabilitation.
In 1993, Mr. CHING passed the Academy of Certified Social Worker (ACSW) credential examination of NASW (U.S.A.) and became qualified for self-regulated practice. In 1999, Mr. CHING fulfilled the requirement of the Certification Commission of NASW and is qualified for the Qualified Clinical Social Worker (QCSW) credential. In the same year, he was included in the NASW Register of Clinical Social Worker.
Mr. CHING pays particular attention to the areas of empowerment, recovery, public education and service gaps in community service. He has been working in the mental health field for over 36 years and has served as a member on various Government’s committees and various advisory groups, including Guardianship Board, Mental Health Review Tribunal, Licensing Appeal Board, Alliance of the Ex-mentally Ill People of HK, Advisory Peer Group for the Bachelor of Social Sciences with Honours in Psychology and Mental Health offered by HKMU as well as member of the Independent Accreditation Panel on developing the BA (Honours) in Psychology offered by The Hang Seng University of HK.
