Jimmy has recently joined Valuable Capital (华盛证券), 38% owned by China’s Sina/Weibo, to help build up the institutional business here, ie DCM, Sales and Trading, Structured Finance, Distressed, Structured Product and Onshore China Business. The backbone of the company is the internet brokerage business for HK and US stocks and the firm is trying to catch up with Futu which is listed in US. One of the differentiators between Valuable Capital and Futu is exactly the debt business that Jimmy building here, including developing the trading platform for fixed income products. Before Valuable Capital, Jimmy spent close to 17 years at SMBC Nikko, SocGen, Nomura, Credit Agricole and Credit Suisse mostly in HK and focusing on fixed income business.
