AIDA LIM ABDULLAH has more than 30 years of experience in a variety of organizations and institutions ranging from audit firms, conglomerates, digital & fintech, financial institutions, GLCs to regulators, such as Bursa Malaysia Bhd (“Bursa”, Malaysia’s Stock Exchange) and the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”).
She has in depth financial and capital market experience in a variety of roles, including corporate governance, internal control, risk management, audit, banking, treasury, corporate finance, merger and acquisition, corporate reporting, investment analysis, financial technology, digital solutions, shariah finance, halal & toyibban management, supply chain, tender and procurement management.
She founded Corporate Streets (www.corporatestreets.com) that help corporations with advisory services and system for CG, Risk, Compliance, Audit, Halalan & Toyyiban solutions. She was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Penang Halal International, a state owned agency of the Penang State Government. She rebranded the entity and leads, transforms and develops PHI. She was the Chief of Corporate Governance and Business Ecosystem of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, the biggest Halal “farm to fork” operator in the South East Asia and a key subsidiary of Johor Corporation.
She was also a Member of the Board of Governors of Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG). Member of the Board of Malaysian-American Commission On Educational Exchange (MACEE)
She started her career in Ernst & Young, Maybank, UEM World and CIMB, some of the largest GLCs of Malaysia and then spent a total of 13 years of regulatory role in Bursa from 1999 to 2012, her key functions included regulating conduct of public listed companies and its management, promoting corporate governance as well as active involvement in regulatory operational matters, the drafting of policies / listing requirement and capital market guidelines. She spent another 3 years in the SC, Investor Affairs, Chairman’s department, leading team to study, analyse and derive solutions for the capital market development issues. Thereafter, she ventured into various financial technology, digital and technology solution firms.
She has been a trainer, speaker for some of the SIDC approved seminars, educational seminar for the SC’s InvestSmart Investors, Bursa’s public listed companies Board of Directors engagements and seminars, Malaysia Institute of Accountant (MIA), Public & Private Universities / Colleges (USM, Taylor’s College, UNITAR, Nottingham, SEGi, Help Institutes, Inti College), Asian Banking School (ABS), Malaysia Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG), Malaysian Institute of Directors Academy (MINDA).
