As Regional Business Lead of Worldwide Financial Services for Asia, Connie Leung is responsible for driving thought leadership and high-level engagements with key stakeholders in the financial services industry across the Asia Pacific. Connie is also part of Microsoft’s Worldwide Financial Services group where she provides strategic direction and leadership across all aspects of the financial services sector, including banking, capital markets and insurance.
Connie has led various global initiatives around artificial intelligence, machine learning and blockchain for corporate banking as well as industry-wide digital transformation programs. She is also a regular speaker at industry events such as Singapore Fintech Festival, Hong Kong Fintech Festival, Hong Kong Blockchain Week, and Finance Asia.
Connie, who was named among the “25 Women Leaders in Hong Kong Fintech” by InvestHK in Oct 2018, is a veteran in the financial services sector and has more than 16 years of diverse industry experience under her belt. Her experience spans across banking and finance as well as vertical business segments such as payments, treasury and trade, technology and infrastructure, sales and management.
Before joining Microsoft in 2013, Connie was the director for payments and trade markets in Asia Pacific at SWIFT where she was responsible for leading corporate, payments and trade markets activities in the region. She has also held a series of management positions in financial and financial information services organizations including Misys, Surecomp and Fidelity Information Services.
Connie graduated from the Hong Kong Polytechnic with a Higher Diploma in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing. She also received an Honors Degree in Computer Science from the British Computer Society (BCS).
