Dr Tommy Tan has had a distinguished 30-year career as an investment banker, having served as managing director and head of investment banking for several global bulge-bracket investment banking businesses in Asia or SE Asia including Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank. He started his boutique investment bank TC Capital in 2002 with his partners - a leading advisory firm in Mergers Acquisitions in Asia. Before his banking career, he was a game theorist with a PhD from Princeton University in 1984 and was an assistant professor until 1987 at the world-renowned centre of research in finance and economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is concurrently founder and CEO of Ceesuite - a mobile application that combines the best of machine learning, human expertise and crowd-sourced intelligence to help business leaders monitor the performance of their companies, evaluate opportunities, strengths and risks, create business forecasts and an objective valuation approach applying a proprietary big data and machine learning model to modernize this core function of markets and investment banks.
