Robert Ip joined Minolta (HK) Limited in 1990 and was subsequently promoted from Sales Executive, Supervisor to Sales Manager in 1999. From 2012 to 2016, he was appointed as Director of Marketing, Sales and Technical Service at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Hong Kong Limited (KMHK). In 2014, KMHK was presented the “President’s Award” from the Japan headquarters in recognition of its remarkable achievements. Ip rose to become the first Chinese Managing Director in March 2016, leading over 800 employees in KMHK. Ip endeavours to transform KMHK into a business solutions expert, providing total solutions to help customers enhance their efficiency and productivity. Other than spearheading the development of digital multi-functional systems, business solutions, IT services and business process outsourcing services for the company, Ip also contributes significantly to the sustainable development of the community. In 2014, he pioneered in establishing the first social enterprise operated by an MNC in Hong Kong namely the “iTransform Station”, which employs hidden youth and helps them integrate into the society. Ip obtained an MBA Degree from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a Master of Science Degree in Information Systems from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Ip is also a columnist of Hong Kong Economic Journal. His debut book sharing his management philosophies and real stories in the business world namely “我要做MD” was published in February 2020.
