Dr. Stephen Chan

Greenland Investment GP
Dr. Chan Wing Bun, Stephen has joined Greenland Finance Company Limited (“Greenland Finance”) as General Manager on May 1, 2019. Greenland Finance is engaged in the business of supply chain finance in the real estate & infrastructure sector and the Hong Kong IPO subscription finance. Dr. Chan has also been appointed as Director of Greenland Investment GP Limited (“Greenland Investment GP”) on November 24, 2021, in the management of Greenland Investment Fund I LPF.
Prior to reassigning to Greenland Finance and Greenland Investment GP, Dr. Chan joined Greenland (Asia) Securities Co., Limited (“Greenland (Asia)”) in developing its overseas business and link capital market between mainland China and Hong Kong, as Managing Director on July 1, 2018. Greenland Finance, Greenland Investment GP and Greenland (Asia) are subsidiaries of Greenland Holdings Corp, a global fortune 500 firm. Greenland (Asia) provides consultation on securities investment and manage securities and funds of clients. The funds under management invest in logistics real estate, hotels and overseas property projects. Its equity investment funds target health care, lifestyle and leisure sectors. It caters to high net worth mainland individuals’ demand to allocate asset globally while also providing hedging services to investors in Japan, Europe and the Middle East.
He was appointed as an independent non-executive director and the chairman of the Audit Committee of China Greenland Broad Greenstate Group Company Limited (01253.hk) (“Greenland Broad”) on March 13, 2018 and resigned on May 23, 2020. Greenland Broad & its subsidiaries are principally engaged in the services of landscape design and gardening and the related services.
Dr. Chan was engaged as Marketing Executive of CNI Securities Group Limited (“CNI”) in October 2016 and resigned on April 09, 2018. CNI is on the Exchange Participant of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and holds one trading right. Over the years, CNI work hard to provide customers with the securities and investment services and products to meet the needs of investors, CNI also introduce new technology, with a view to deliver the most comprehensive online electronic trading platform. CNI provide one-stop, web-based trading system offers customers the ability to obtain at any time on the internet for stock and foreign stock and the buying and selling, as well as IPO services.
Before joining CNI, Dr. Chan was appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Glory Flame Holdings Limited (08059.hk) (“Glory Flame”) on 18 December 2015 and resigned from Glory Flame on 19 September 2016.
Dr. Chan was firstly appointed as Chief Financial Officer of LED International Holdings Limited (AIM: LED), having joined LED in February 2009, and had assumed prime responsibility for its finance and regulatory functions. In May 2009, Dr. Chan had been appointed as Executive Director of LED. On 30 December 2010, Dr. Chan had been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of LED. Dr. Chan was also a non-executive director of Green Pearl Leasing (China) Company Limited and director of various subsidiaries of the Company. Dr. Chan resigned the directorship from LED and all of its subsidiaries on 19 August 2016.
Prior to joining LED, Dr. Chan advised on a number of corporate transactions, including M&As, restructurings and IPOs during his time with LehmanBrown CPA Co., Ltd. Prior to this he was the Finance Controller of Avnet Sunrise Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Avnet Inc, a global fortune 500 company operating in the electronics industry, where he performed a number of financial and regulatory based roles.
Dr. Chan began his accountancy career at Grant Thornton before moving to Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in Hong Kong. He is CPA (practicing) qualified in Hong Kong and ACA qualified in England and Wales. Other professional qualifications he holds include FCCA and FCA (ICAEW). Dr. Chan was a licensed person to carry out Regulated Activity Types 1, 4 and 9 under the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong (2018). He was educated at Hong Kong Baptist University and later received a Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of South Australia and the University of Newcastle respectively. He has also completed an LLM from Renmin University of China.
