Karen is the President & Founder of Northwest Multicultural Association WA Inc. Northwest Multicultural Association WA Inc. was officially established in November 2021. Seven founder members from diverse cultural backgrounds were dedicated to providing services to a broader community, including the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) people.
The Pilbara region is unique compared to other Australian cities; the area supports more than 80% of the national economy but has a small residential population. Among the workforce, many of us and our family members were from the CaLD backgrounds but had very little support within the region. Therefore, our members gathered and decided to incorporate the service and hope to bring more services to our members. Our committee members have been helping and supporting the community with passion and kindness for over a decade before this organisation officially established.
